Thelime putty obtained from river pebbles, it has a non-uniform, pleasantly velvety tone, similar to ancient surfaces and at the same time permeable to vapor, shiny and resistant over time. As long as it is lime putty aged naturally, in open-air holes, keeping the surface constantly moist to prevent drying, and then aged for at least 24 months.
A lime putty natural of this type is for example that used by the Harpo company in its Sandtex range of paints, stuccos and plasters for civil, environmental and geotechnical engineering. Ecological products for high-quality and eco-friendly finishes (even if the lime production cycle is quite energy-intensive) in full compliance with the Italian tradition in the construction of buildings which has always preferred plaster to lime putty to the use of exposed stone, of Anglo-Saxon tradition.
The lime putty used in construction is nothing more than calcium hydroxide (also called slaked lime or hydrated lime) in the form of colorless crystal or white powder produced by dry hydration of calcium oxide (also called lime or quicklime).
